Departure

Departure takes place at the port of Argelès-sur-Mer, nestled at the foot of the Albères mountains, where the Pyrenées plunge into the Mediterranean sea.

As soon as we leave the port, an unusual place on the Catalan coastline catches our eye : the small village of le Racou with its small houses on the sand. The very last sandy beach before the rocky coast.

Sailing along this coastline, we pass in front of Collioure, a royal historical city, whose reputation is not to be made any more. Pearl of the Côte Vermeille, it conceals exceptional architectural treasures whose charm has remained intact.

Then, crossing Cap Béar, dominated by its lighthouse, its semaphore and vestiges of the world war. Below, the cave of the smugglers…

Heading for the Natural Marine Reserve, Banyuls-sur-Mer and the classified site of the Anse de Paulilles

Our BEST SELLER, this outing allows you to discover the whole of the Vermeille coast in a wild and protected environment where marine life can express itself freely.

Practical information: the outing is best done in the morning because the sea is calm and more suitable for teaching stand up paddle boarding (this outing can also be proposed in the afternoon depending on the schedule or weather conditions).

We then cross the bay of the classified site of Anse de Paulilles to reach the small eden of the underwater life in Banyuls-sur-Mer. A paradise for swimmers and divers, this protected natural area is the first Marine Nature Reserve in France.

The boat is moored to a buoy in compliance with the regulations and for the protection of the environment. We are here in a wild site, preserved from any human pollution, a site difficult to access where few people have the privilege to stand-up paddleboard. It’s now time to  enjoy our first gliding sensations on these crystal clear waters, equipped with our stand-up paddle board!

Practice is supervised by a qualified instructor. It is also possible to enjoy the setting from the boat, lounging on the sundeck, or under the surface with mask and snorkel.

After marvelling at the reserve, head for the classified site of the Paulilles cove to prolong the pleasure around the various activities. The anchorage in its clear waters offers an ideal setting for paddle boarding.

The return trip will have a new dynamic : more speed and further out to sea to admire the coastline from a completely different point of view. And if we’re lucky enough, we may sight  dolphins or a sunfish…
